We will be having a Senior Citizen Self Defense Class, sponsored by the Polk County Sherriff's Office. It is scheduled for March 19 at 1PM at the community center (Gazebo #5). The Gold STAR (Safety - Tactics - Awareness - Response) classes are free of charge and for senior citizens 55 years and older. Each class is approximately two hours long unless more than 30 people attend.
The class consists of lecture (approximately 15 minutes) and hands-on techniques (at least 45 minutes). Attendees will demonstrate all of the techniques on a body opponent bag (B.O.B.) which we will supply
