The World’s Largest Business Aviation Event Comes to Orlando Executive Airport

Fri, 10/12/2018 - 5:17pm

ORLANDO, FL. – The 2018 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) meeting is billed as the most important three days for business aviation in the country and this year that meeting is being held at Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) and the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), October 16-18. More than 25 thousand attendees from 90 different countries are expected, bringing together current and prospective aircraft owners, manufacturers, suppliers and customers all in one location.

“Hosting the world’s largest business aviation event speaks volumes for the service and facilities offered at Orlando Executive Airport,” says Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

“This show, which generates more than $49 million for the local economy, demonstrates the importance of Orlando Executive and its contribution to the region’s economy.”

Over 100 aircraft will be on display at Orlando Executive Airport. Suppliers, manufacturers and other exhibitors will occupy the convention center along with 7 additional full-sized aircraft. Transporting some of those aircraft by ground to the convention center requires a team of 50 people, multi-agency coordination, some road sign removal and re-installation and traffic containment for the move during the overnight hours along Tradeport Drive and Sand Lake Road.

“We continue to select Orlando to host the event on a bi-annual basis based on a number of criteria,” says Joe Hart, NBAA Director of Static Displays. “Orlando offers abundant hotel space, a world-class convention center and a large, close proximity, general aviation airport capable of supporting over 100 large and small aircraft while maintaining normal operations.”

The show is NOT open to the public. Media wishing to cover the event must contact the NBAA media relations department through their website at www.NBAA.org to register for official credentials.
